BON VOYAGE! My mom and dad the night before they head off to Micronesia and the Island of Yap. We'll miss you!

Logan's Priesthood Ordination

Last Sunday was Logan's Priesthood Ordination of becomming a Priest.  What a proud moment for a mother and a father.  He's a loving son and great example to us of goodness, faithfullness and worthiness.  You, my son, are one of those truly, valiant spirits!

We're missing our Kinsie-Poo :(

A Happy Father's Day with ALL 3 kids!

Caslyn told her dad to close his eyes and hold up his hands for his present and he raised them high in the air.  Now this is our family joke....."RAISE YOUR HANDS"

Since Kinsie is a poor, starving college student, she decided to make her daddy a gift from the heart.  She made "52 Reasons why I love you"  It was so thoughtful and she put MANY hours into making it.  I is something Rick will cherish forever.  It was perfect.

Logan was so proud to buy his dad a knife with his very own money.  He knows his dad enjoys getting a new knife.

Caslyn was also excited to buy her daddy this battery charger.  They had been in the auto parts store a week or so before Father's Day and he had mentioned that he would love to have one.  Caslyn made a mental note and went out and got it.  Rick was very surprised.

I gave my hunny buns a big love for Father's Day and this is the effect it made on him.  Stand back ladies, he's mine!!

These are my most favorite people in the whole, entire universe in the history of forever!

When Kinsie asked her dad what he wanted for his dinner, he said, " A BOWL OF FRUIT SALAD!"  So that's exactly what he got!  Also, homemade eggrolls and fried rice.  DELISH!

Happy 16th, Logan!

This is my favorite son, Logan! (He's my only son, but even if he wasn't, he'd still be my favorite)  He turned 16 on June 25th.  I don't tell him enough, but I love this kid so much.  He is a treasure and a joy to me.  I am so proud to be his mother.  He is sensitive, valiant, a good friend, funny, loving and has a strong heart!  He's 6'2'' but he will always be my little boy.  Thanks for putting up with my "weirdness" and for sometimes being in the shadow of your 2 older sisters.  You are never forgotten.  You are always in my heart!  Happy 16th, son and I love you.

My parents had their Mission Farewell yesterday. They both did a awesome job on their talks and had a huge turn out! They are obviously soooo loved and respected. They had old friends from California, high school friends and my dad even had a dear missionary companion all come out for this big day. They had many local friends and family and old co-workers come support them as well.

After the farewell, we all went over to Nicholle's house and had a big open house for my parents. It was such a great day! We enjoyed lots of food and each others company. It was great catching up with old friends and family that we haven't seen in awhile. My parents loved their special day. This morning they left for the MTC, then in 2 weeks, they're off to MICRONESIA GUAM!! They will be sorely missed, but the people of YAP Island are in for a special treat:)  Here are some pics of our great day!

Mom and Dad, we will miss you!  Enjoy the blessings you will be given these next 18 months serving the youth of Micronesia!

Our New Trailer!!

We sold our other trailer and got this one!!  We love it!!  I needed one with a different bed layout since I couldn't crawl over Rick to go to the "LOU" anymore.  This is our Anniversary/Mother's Day/Father's Day/ both of our birthday gift:)

Zeitoun

I finished ZEITOUN by Dave Eggers.  I have to say...it makes you think!  What is wrong with our nation, our government and the people?  How could something like a natural disaster make everyone go nuts.  Do people not know how to react?  Why does it give one the right in their mind to loot, rob, steal, threaten, harm and even kill?  On the other hand it gave me the feeling of love, hope and faith.  There are still good people in the world.  It's not a race issue or a religious issue.  There is good and bad in everyone.  It just takes a disaster to see what you're made of.....fear and helplessness or hope and compassion.
