HUBBY HUMOR

Rick found these dumb teeth in a bag that Logan got from a friend of his.  He stole them, just for a minute, and gave me a set of teeth and said, "here Bees, put these in and we'll get a picture and you can put it on your blog."  He was being sarcastic, but little did he know, that that is exactly where this picture was going.  LOL.

Eternal Friendships!

Siblings... I love my brothers and sisters.  They are a blessing and a treasure to me.  What joy to have them in my life!

You might ask, why I put this picture in?   It actually depicts what each of our personalities are in just this one photo.  My parents would understand what I mean.  Look closely.....TeeHeeHee!

Logan's Back Surgery

Logan went into Primary Children's Hospital on August 20th.  His scoliosis curve was almost a 60 degree curve.  Dr. Smith went in and put titanium rods and screws in his spine like they had to do with Caslyn.  His surgery was 2 hours long and was a success!  He was pretty alert after his surgery and we were able to talk to him as visit with him a bit.  He was a day ahead of schedule, so he was able to come home early.  He was in the hospital for 5 days.  We were glad to get him home.  I stayed at the hospital the first few days just to make sure he was good and that he had his mommy just in case.....sometimes they just need a kiss, to hold your hand, or just to be able to call out your name and know their mom is there!

This was Stephanie, Logan's first PT.  This was the morning after his surgery.  She had him sit at the edge of his bed.  He was a trooper, I know how this feels the morning after.  I think he just wanted to show off.  He thought she was quite cute:)

Logan's first day walking.  Day 3.  He did great!  His PT Kari was quite proud.

Logan's first time sitting in a chair, Day 2

Logan actually did 4 flights of stairs.  Day 3. His PT Kari's goal was just to get him to do a couple of steps.  Way to go Logan!!  That's my tough son.  Way to push yourself:)

A man comes in to the hospital every Thursday, with his dog, Daisy, to visit the children.  He says is therapeutic for the kids and for Daisy.  She will only come to this floor though, because she can sense the pain and suffering on the cancer floor.  She is 11 years old and was so sweet.
Time to come home!  And Logan insisted on bringing 5 of his 8 pillows home!

Fun at Flaming Gorge

We went to Flaming Gorge with some friends and had a great time. We camped right on the lake and went boating, tubing, wake-boarding, surfing and knee-boarding. Rick and I left the kids at home since they had such busy schedules and just the two of us headed off with the Minnicks and the Chapmans. The weather could have cooperated a little bit more, but we had alot of fun. We decided to make it an annual event!

What a fun group!  The Shraders, The Minnicks and The Chapmans

EDUCATION WEEK - A Week of Spiritual Instruction!

Caslyn and Kinsie joined us for a day.  They loved it and are looking forward to next year when they can go for the whole week!

Walking  to the next class.  So many faithful in one place....it doesn't get any better than this.

A view of "Y" mountain.  It was a beautiful week.

On our way to the devotional.  Elder Tad Callister spoke on our identity and who we are.

This is Terri.  She sat next to me in my Book of Mormon class.  She is blind and sat there and took her notes on her Braille writer.  I was so impressed and touched by how many faithful saints are determined to go to Education Week.  I saw the blind with their guide dogs or sticks, the deaf with their sign language interpretters, the crippled in their wheelchairs, the mentally challenged, couples walking hand in hand with their spouses, many youth and many old and many really, really old.  Such devotion, coming and waiting to be instructed of the Lord.  I was extremely touched!

I SURE LOVE THIS LADY!!

My sweet Mother-in-law comes out from California and attends Education Week with me.  It is "our" thing.  We love it!  We also love being "roomies" together in Helaman Halls for the week!
I loved this week!  I loved the Spirit, the classes, the people, being among the faithful and having the best roomie in the world!  One of my instructors made the comment that he loves Ed. Week because he feels like he is among the people of Enoch.  I would have to agree with him:)  I am so grateful for the gospel and for wonderful instructors who have sacrificed their time away from their families and jobs to come to Eduation Week and "feed" me.  I was so sad for it all to come to an end.  I very much look forward to next year!
