Logan's Back Surgery

Logan went into Primary Children's Hospital on August 20th.  His scoliosis curve was almost a 60 degree curve.  Dr. Smith went in and put titanium rods and screws in his spine like they had to do with Caslyn.  His surgery was 2 hours long and was a success!  He was pretty alert after his surgery and we were able to talk to him as visit with him a bit.  He was a day ahead of schedule, so he was able to come home early.  He was in the hospital for 5 days.  We were glad to get him home.  I stayed at the hospital the first few days just to make sure he was good and that he had his mommy just in case.....sometimes they just need a kiss, to hold your hand, or just to be able to call out your name and know their mom is there!

This was Stephanie, Logan's first PT.  This was the morning after his surgery.  She had him sit at the edge of his bed.  He was a trooper, I know how this feels the morning after.  I think he just wanted to show off.  He thought she was quite cute:)

Logan's first day walking.  Day 3.  He did great!  His PT Kari was quite proud.

Logan's first time sitting in a chair, Day 2

Logan actually did 4 flights of stairs.  Day 3. His PT Kari's goal was just to get him to do a couple of steps.  Way to go Logan!!  That's my tough son.  Way to push yourself:)

A man comes in to the hospital every Thursday, with his dog, Daisy, to visit the children.  He says is therapeutic for the kids and for Daisy.  She will only come to this floor though, because she can sense the pain and suffering on the cancer floor.  She is 11 years old and was so sweet.
Time to come home!  And Logan insisted on bringing 5 of his 8 pillows home!
